April 9, 2024, The Hague: Quan, the scale-up dedicated to helping teams measure and manage their own well-being, has announced a new strategic partnership with occupational healthcare provider Zorg van de Zaak, and a bridging round with existing investors.

With the new partnership, Zorg van de Zaak’s 67,000 customers will be able to offer Quan to 1.3 million employees in the Netherlands. Quan’s science-backed framework will enable businesses to objectively measure the well-being of teams within their organizations, and give them the tools they need to manage risks. Teams working with Quan are seeing average improvements of 25% in areas they choose to improve on, such as stress at work, anxiety, and related issues, within 12 weeks of working with the solution, and the framework is being constantly validated through an academic collaboration with King’s Business School (King’s College London).

“At Zorg van de Zaak, we are moving into more digital and proactive approaches to preventative healthcare. Quan was a natural choice to help us enable our customers to keep their finger on the pulse of well-being in their organizations, and spot and manage risks around issues such as burnout, retention, and absenteeism, before they become problems,” said Rita Zijlstra (pictured left), clinical neuropsychologist and board member at Zorg van de Zaak.

Quan’s latest investment round was led by Hearstlab and 4impact, and included other existing investors Ycombinator, Joanna Invests, Golden Egg Check, and Knop Ventures. The funding will enable Quan to build out its product, as well as further grow in the Dutch and UK markets.

“The science is clear: teams with a healthy level of well-being perform better, are more creative, stay longer in their roles, and have lower levels of burnout,” said Arosha Brouwer (pictured right), CEO and co-founder, Quan. “It’s time organizations take a proactive and evidence-based approach to measuring well-being and its drivers, rather than offering a suite of perks that no one is really using .”

“Over three years, our collaboration with Quan has evolved from an opt-in program for a handful of teams during lock-down to a company-wide, management-led initiative that puts wellbeing at the heart of our HR metrics. We are able to detect where problems are and empower our managers and teams to discuss and address issues on time and with the people that matter. We are excited to see Quan partner with Zorg van der Zaak as this solution supports leaders to take preventative steps and not just call the company doctor when someone burns out,” said Ruben Vermaak, Global Director of People Development, Bynder.
